Aside from being considered a pioneer of Japanese hip hop, DJ Krush has established himself as one of the most respected artists and producers in the music industry. An originator and innovator both in Japan and abroad whose influence and vision has shaped contemporary hip hop and electronic music.

Entering the industry with his self titled album in 93, Krush introduced the world to an experimental down tempo approach to beats and instrumentals, bringing his own cool edge to a synthesis of jazz, dub, breaks and hip hop.

It was a sound that changed the face of hip hop during an era that was dominated by the American gangster rap scene, DJ Krush’s progressive, fluctuating soundscapes punctuated by the concise snap of a hip hop kick and snare became his trademark, laying the ground work for eight more albums and generations of producers each drawing influence from DJ Krush’s revolutionary style.

It has been eight years since DJ Krush released his last album, Jaku. Since then DJ Krush has been been touring Europe, Australia, Asia and the states, preparing to release his next eagerly anticipated album, one single at a time over iTunes.
